We hope that this finds you and your loved ones healthy, safe, and virus free. To update you on the current situation in Haiti, it is vague at best. There are 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3 deaths, but there are reports of people dying in different areas of the country of pneumonia type illness. People are not being tested, and therefore not tallied in "confirmed cases." Unfortunately, the Haitian government has declared victory over the virus and is allowing factory workers back to work. We pray very much for this fragile population.
Everyone at HELO is well. Work is underway on our well, the hand pump is now operational and the electric pump has been pulled out and sent for repairs. THANK YOU all who donated to make that possible!!
Our nurse, Guerda goes out to HELO 3 times a week to check on the children and take care of their health needs. She is a tremendous blessing to us, especially at this challenging time, as children are not required to go to the hospital for routine health issues.
We received the sad news that our ministry partner is no longer able to fund Guerda's salary. We do not want to lose Guerda, and are trying to raise funds to cover her salary. If you are able to help, please visit our "News and Events" page for a link.
We pray you remain safe, healthy and strong. We sincerely thank you for your love and support.
